At a time when geopolitical uncertainty, supply chain disruptions and growing complexity are affecting global trade, access to reliable data and insights has never been more important.
Virtual Watch Tower is an international initiative where partners from industry, academia and the public sector share and analyse maritime and transport data. The aim is to better understand global trade flows and to identify potential disruptions in supply chains at an early stage.
This partnership aim to strengthen Global Business Gate as a platform where digital innovation, international trade and collaboration come together – and where Gothenburg’s role in global trade continues to evolve alongside a changing world.
– We are very pleased to welcome Global Business Gate into the Virtual Watch Tower community. Their role as an arena for international business and collaboration strengthens our shared ambition to build a more resilient, transparent, and data-driven global supply chain ecosystem. Together, we accelerate innovation and collective capability to manage disruption and support sustainable trade, says Mikael Lind, co-founder of the Virtual Watch Tower initiative, (Adjunct) Professor Maritime Informatics, Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE) and Chalmers University of Technology.”
